How to wear Contact lenses perfectly
Doctors say forgetting is normal. But, my spouse doesn’t think so. I forget my house keys at the office and my wallet in my car. And not to forget those currency notes which my mom fishes out when my clothes are put for washing..Aahh..I have also reached home on numerous occasions without my pair of eyeglasses, having had it forgotten them at God knows where.
Last month, I decided that I should opt for a pair of contact lenses to put a permanent end to my odysseys of forgetfulness. And wow! What a relief it has been.
Even my better half has switched to contact lenses. But hers is a set of coloured lenses, as she wants to sport a new look every morning. As far as I know, the number of people switching to contact lenses for ease of use is increasing day by day. But do most of us know the right way to wear them?
Here is a set of instructions from my ophthalmologist friend on the correct way to wear contact lenses.
Before you take the contact lenses, wash your hands with soap.
Then, rinse thoroughly with clean water
Dry your hands with a clean towel.
Take the contact lenses out of the case. If the lenses had become inside out or folded, place it on the palm of your hand. Add a few drops of lens solution and gently turn them the right way.
Take the lens for your right eye first. Place it on the index finger of your right hand. Using the middle finger of the same hand, pull the lower eyelid down. Use the index finger of the left hand to pull up the upper eyelid.
Place the lens gently over the Iris (the circular coloured part of the eye), so that, all the edges of the lens are in contact with the eye. Ensure that the lens is centered over your Iris. Slide it gently over your eyeball, if necessary.
Don’t let go of both the upper and lower eyelids at shot, as this can cause an air bubble in your eye. Let go of the lower eyelid first, followed by the upper one.
Blink gently. Take note of any irritation or pain in the eye. In case of any irritation, remove the lens and try putting it again.
Repeat the process with your left eye.
Now, a point to remember always. When you buy a box of contact lenses, make sure they are from the premium brands. Online portals like www.lenskart.com has a wide array of contact lenses ranging from conventional to daily disposable and even coloured contact lenses, that too with cool offers. This eyewear portal even delivers your choice of contact lenses at your home absolutely free of cost.
